Apartments, hotels and campings in Rabac can hold 10000 tourists but romantic atmosphere of an old fishing village is always kept here. You won’t find big beaches here, they are compensated for by small isolated coves. Beaches of Rabac were given the «Blue flag» award of UNESCO in 2003. A lot of stores, cafes and restaurants are located along the quay. Night life might not be really variegated but still there are a few discos in Rabac. You can do various sports here too. There are 20 modern tennis courts, availability of scuba-diving, fishing and bicycling here.
From Rabac you can go under excursion program to medieval Labin where many architectural and historical monuments are preserved. It has been known since 282 and became famous as a birthplace of Matthias Flacius Illyricus – a famous Lutheran theologian and writer. Scenic narrow streets, various museums and art workshops, restaurants, cozy cafes that you must visit are located here. In summer, squares of neighboring Labin turn into open-air concert stages. You can get to Labin from Rabac by commuter bus or a pedestrian precinct. It’s only 5 kilometers!
Labin is not the only interesting place to visit, there is also Krsana fortress built in the 13th century. It is 18 kilometers away from Rabac. You should also go to Picana – a small medieval town 30 kilometers away from Rabac.
Some people call Rabac «the pearl of Kvarner Bay» and do it surely for a reason as one of the most beautiful and hospitable resorts in Croatia.
